An Evening of Ecstatic Sacred Chant with Zat Baraka and Gaura Vani & As Kindred Spirits

The West Coast Debut of Gaura Vani & As Kindred Spirits along with Zat Baraka. Hot off the heals of playing with Jai Uttal during the Omega Ecstatic Chant Festival and musical collaborations with MC Yogi and Wah! during the NYC Yoga Journal Conference comes this very special kirtan event.

At the age of six Gaura Vani left the US to study sacred music in a gurukula or temple school in the timeless town of Vrindavan, India. He learned ancient prayers in Sanskrit and Bengali and to sing and play ethnic instruments like the harmonium and mrdanga. 25 years later he continues to share the magic he received and performs extensively with his kirtan ensemble, As Kindred Spirits, throughout the world from Europe and Asia, to the Americas.

Zat Baraka, the founder of the Kirtan Collective in Los Angeles, is a professional musician and a certified yoga and meditation teacher. His background in Tantra Yoga, Kundalini and Hatha Yoga as well as his heart connection with Sufism gives him a deep well to draw from. Zat is currently lead musician with The kirtan band supporting Guru Ma Kali and Tantra Yoga International. A musician of 25 years, and plays various instruments, as well as a singer songwriter. Keyboards/ Harmonium/ Guitar/ Dijeridoo/Hand drums/ and an exceptional vocalist. His love of Indian music as well as his travels all over the world have influenced him in his love of world music and especially Indian Chanting.

  1. An attention-grabbing dialogue is worth comment. I think that it’s best to write more on this topic, it may not be a taboo topic however generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
