The Game Plan Pre-kirtan huddle.

Kush Lounge is a hip Moroccan-themed lounge and event space on the Lower East Side. I’ve been there before to hear Cheb-i-Sabbah perform. We were invited to provide the music for a fundraiser to benefit the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. We’ve worked with before as recipients of money from Chant4Change: Inaugural Kirtan Festival in Washington, DC, so we were happy when Ray Ippolito mentioned this opportunity. The thing about this night is that it’s a raw chocolate feast. Volunteers travel around the rooms constantly giving away amazing, free, super-rich, organic chocolate. Within a few bites we were all…buzzing…frankly.

Interest Jai Jai Nitai, Jai Jai Gaur

We were joined that night by Ray (the most amazing guitar player who speaks fluent “guitar”). LOL. Also, Ray’s friend Mike (a beat-boxer – remember that from the 80’s) joined us and blew our minds. Wait till you hear what he did. When we started to play, the place basically erupted. Folks were dancing and jiving and singing along.

Dance! The new Ganesh Shirt

Listen to the tracks and you’ll agree. It’s kirtan like you’ve never heard it before. We can’t wait to do it again.

  1. I love your guys live kirtans. Me and my husband always think if only you could do higher quality recordings live, mix them up (which we know takes lots of work – my husband does that) and put them up – we would pay for them – and I’m sure others would too…and play them at our Krishna centre for yoga and prasad distribution etc. they are truly fantastic. Such energy is there in a live kirtan. Just can’t play them publicly as we would like at moment due to quality. But they are still great. I’m very inspired. I run a kirtan night here and trying to get it rolling down here. kirtan ain’t so famous yet down here as it is in US but hopefully soon. i’ve used some of your amazing arrangements and tunes at our kirtan night, hope you don’t mind. Thank you so much for the inspiration… Hare Krishna…..

It’s just awesome prabhu but the problem is with the sound, it is not too clear…i think it’s the recording itself..
