Pictures and MP3s from Sacred Sounds

 Sri Sri Radha Natabara

Our annual Sacred Sounds program was out of this world. We were honored with many special guests, friends and family from all around the East coast. People drove from Detroit, New York, Philly, North Carolina and of course all around the DC Metro area.

Thank you to all that came, you are what made this the event that it was.

We recently obtained a small digital recorder which we used to record kirtan and lectures at Sacred Sounds. We have some video too that we’ll put up one of these days.

The 25th Hour - Remarks from the 24 Hour Kirtan

Hot off the editing table, become inspired by these realizations and recaps from the 24 Hour Kirtan Festival 2008. Immediately following the completion of the 24 hours, we went and asked the participants to share any realizations that came to them. Here’s what followed.

On a side note, we have changed over our YouTube account name to user name: GauraVanicom. This account has all the videos we have on the old account plus some new ones. If you have a subscription to our channel, make sure you subscribe to this new one: www.youtube.com/gauravanicom.

Spirits at Burning Man

The time is fast approaching for our first trip (for most of us) to Burning Man.

What is Burning Man you ask? It is the most insane art, music, culture, party festival/city held annually in a salt-flat desert in Nevada. Around 60 thousand people attend bringing along all sorts of art, sculpture, structures, ideas, costumes and attitudes making it one very memorable experience.

For a sense of scale, see this:

Our friends with Krishna Camp starting going out in 2006 and after watching this video that they created, we just had to see it for ourselves.

We will be spreading Kirtan and love around the Playa (the desert). We will be staying at the Entheon Village so if you are out there, swing by jam with us. Burning Man starts August 25th and ends September 1st. We’ll be posting photos and what not when we get back.

End of 24 Hour Kirtan - Video

Here is our last video of the 24 Hour Kirtan Festival. Between photos, sound systems and power outages we weren’t able to get video of each of the singers. Don’t worry though, we have a great video coming out soon of all the Kirtan attendees expressing their thoughts and realizations right after the Kirtan completion.

And for now enjoy this video of His Holiness Radhanath Swami leading the last Kirtan of the 24 hours…

Los Angeles Ratha Yatra Photos

Just got in from Los Angeles for our annual show at the Ratha Yatra. This year was amazing. The weather was perfect albeit a little hot, and the people were rockin’ out. Check out these photos.

(Our field recorder has gone out of commission so we are working on obtaining another one so you can listen to all our shows. More MP3s to come…)
