Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting whose roots go back over 500 years to India. It is a form of Bhakti Yoga (yoga of devotion) and has the power to open the heart. The singing is accompanied by musical instruments and rhythmic drumming and the audience is encouraged to participate by chanting, clapping and dancing. You will not be able to resist the urge to join in! In its heartfelt expression kirtan can induce profound states of meditation, bliss and ecstasy.

There is a sweet sound vibration that permeates through all layers of coverings and makes God dance. That sound vibration is Kirtan. It is a mysterious connection that draws people to each other.

Kirtan Friendships

Kirtan is a boon and blessing that can awaken the perfection of ones life and carry one over the ocean of miseries that are abundant in this material world. This world is filled with tings that we cannot understand. There are wars and disease, death and people in constant anxiety. Kirtan transports the soul from that

It is not a nice place here and we are constantly crying out for Krsna one second, and then forgetting in the next second that we need him at all. Such is the way of this material world, but when will I realize that never is there a moment when I do not need the holy names. There is nothing else that can substitute them in all the three worlds and without them, without Kirtan, without this harinama, my life is empty, meaningless, devoid of anything substantial. I cannot live without Harinama. It is my best friend, my shelter, my water to quench my thirst, it is all that I can ask for, and still I strive to deserve more and more to be in its association. When will I realize?
